After receiving a BS '04 in Biological Engineering and a MS '06 in Computer Graphics, I'm currently working as a full-time research/teaching staff member of the Program of Computer Graphics.
My primary role is to coordinate an interdisciplinary research and animation project between the PCG and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Having backgrounds in computer graphics, art, biology and bioengineering, ornithology, and mechanical engineering, we are interested in applying technology originally developed for the animation industry towards scientific problems. Specifically, our current challenge is to simulate avian flight and light reflection in a manner that is both physically and physiologically correct. Originally centered around the proposed rediscovery of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker, our interests have grown to include other species of birds.
For the 2007-08 school year, I will be an instructor in the Computer Animation courses at PCG with Professor Don Greenberg.
